 I am a freelance translator currently living in Denver, Colorado. I grew up in Germany where I finished my translation studies in 1984 at the Würzburger Dolmetscherschule (professional academy for translators and interpreters in Würzburg, Germany). After serving nearly six years as technical translator for the Engineering, Plans and Services Division of the US-Army in Frankfurt/Germany I moved to the US in 1990. I resumed my translation career in 1994 as fulltime German in-house translator for Quark, Inc. here in Denver. I went freelance in 1996. Since then I worked for a wide range of clients, including JD Edwards (now Oracle), The GeoGroup, ALTA, Lionbridge, SDL and AccentsUS, just to name a few.

I am an accredited member of the American Translators Association (ATA), member of the CTA (Colorado Translators Association) and Alliance Française.

Sprache als Leidenschaft. Ich bin freiberufliche Übersetzerin und lebe derzeit in Denver, US-Bundesstaat Colorado. Aufgewachsen bin ich in Deutschland. Dort habe ich auch mein Übersetzerstudium 1984 an der Würzburger Dolmetscherschule abgeschlossen. Nachdem ich fast sechs Jahre lang als technische Übersetzerin für die US-Streitkräfte in Frankfurt (Directorate of Engineering and Housing, Engineering, Plans & Services Division) tätig war, zog ich 1990 in die USA. 1994 nahm ich meine Übersetzertätigkeit als Vollzeit-Übersetzerin für Quark, Inc. (Developer der QuarkXPress Software) hier in Denver wieder auf. 1996 habe ich mich dann selbständig gemacht. Seither habe ich für ein breites Spektrum an Kunden gearbeitet, darunter JD Edwards (jetzt Oracle), The GeoGroup, ALTA, Lionbridge, SDL und AccentsUS, um nur einige zu nennen.

Ich bin akkreditiertes Mitglied der American Translators Association (ATA), der CTA (Colorado Translators Association) und der Alliance Française.
